Outstanding Retiree Award

MSSA recognizes retirees for their outstanding service to the health and human service community.  The retiree’s involvement evidences a significant contribution to clients, agency, community and MSSA.

MSSA considers the following when selecting the Outstanding Retiree Award winner:

  • Outstanding contributions to MSSA (past or present)
  • Participates in, promotes and is/has been recognized for their commitment to the profession of health and human services
  • The nominee's scope of work has had a significant and lasting impact in the state and community
  •  Demonstrated use of personal skills and experience to contribute to community service
  • Nominee is a current or past member of MSSA

2017 Outstanding Retiree Award Recipient: Ken Ebel

MSSA is proud to recognize Ken Ebel as the 2017 Outstanding Retiree Award Recipient. Mr. Ebel has been an active member of MSSA for over 40 years. During that time, he has been an active committee member and board member of MSSA. Mr. Ebel most recently served as MSSA’s Board President from 2015-2016. His dedication to MSSA serves as a model for his colleagues who will follow him.

Mr. Ebel began his career in health and human services as a child protection worker and retired after serving as a county director. Mr. Ebel has demonstrated his passion for field of social work throughout his career and into his retirement, and many of his colleagues consider him a mentor. MSSA thanks Mr. Ebel for his service and leadership. Congratulations!
