Delegate Assembly is MSSA's annual member meeting. At the assembly, our members discuss and vote on issues to be included in MSSA's public policy agenda for the upcoming legislative session. On November 17, 2017, members will create our public policy agenda for the 2018 legislative session. Click here to view MSSA's 2017 public policy agenda.
How do I get involved?
Become a delegate! Being a delegate is a one-day commitment to attend delegate assembly and participate in the discussion/voting process. Delegates receive a packet of the positions to be discussed during the assembly approx. 1 week in advance. MSSA encourages delegates to look at the positions before the assembly. No prior public policy experience is required. You must be a current MSSA member to be a delegate. To become a delegate, email Beth Ringer at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Why should I attend?
Being a delegate is an opportunity for MSSA members from around the state and across specialty areas to talk about the broader issues they are seeing in their work and think about solutions. It's an opportunity for you to make your voice heard and guide MSSA's advocacy efforts during the legislative session. Delegates also receive free lunch and free CEUs.
How does MSSA use its public policy agenda?
MSSA’s public policy agenda guides our advocacy efforts and directs what our lobbyists does at the capitol.
